Town leaders gathered at the rebranded Phoenix Theatres’ Village 14+PMX on Tuesday morning to celebrate and get a tour from Phoenix President and CEO Phil Zacheretti.

“This is now our crown jewel. This is the most beautiful theater that we operate. We have some that are bigger, but this is just a luxury theater, as it was built to be.”

The theater is part of the Village at Leesburg mixed-use retail center owned by Rappaport. It was previously operated by CMX, a national theater company that has struggled since the COVID pandemic and filed bankruptcy for a second time last year. Unable to maintain facility upkeep and staffing, the movie-going experience suffered. And losing foot traffic at one of the Village’s anchor spaces had a trickle-down impact on the center’s other stores and restaurants.
