Players of the nation’s fastest-growing sport have a new place in Northern Virginia to call home — all without any concern for bad weather or competition from tennis players.

Village Pickle, a 24,000-square-foot indoor pickleball facility at the Village at Leesburg, will celebrate its grand opening Thursday in converted retail spaces.

With a price tag of around $850,000, the spacious facility at Rappaport’s mixed-use center boasts eight professional-grade courts, a lounge area, a collection of ping pong tables and changing rooms. Off the court, pickleballers can order gourmet food and beverages provided in partnership with local restaurants.
