As summer comes to a close, we welcome the arrival of autumn. The change in season is the perfect time to gather with friends and family and celebrate all that our community has to offer. And what better way to do so than by attending some of the exciting local events happening in the coming weeks? From pumpkin carving to trick-or-treating and costume contests, here are some upcoming fall events that are sure to be fun for the whole family.

Monster Mash at Village at Leesburg 

On Saturday, October 28th, from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Village at Leesburg is hosting their annual Monster Mash. Guests can enjoy professional pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, kids and pet costume contests, cookie decorating, caricatures, and more! Additionally, A Place to Be will be showing their Halloween performance of Priscilla’s Potion Party. Tickets are only $5, and seating is limited for each performance, so make sure to get your tickets early.

Tackett’s Mill Fall Festival 

On Saturday, October 7th, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Tackett’s Mill is hosting their Fall Festival. This event is free for all, and guests can enjoy live music, balloon art, games, a caricaturist, a craft station, and much more! The first 150 people to stop by their table will receive a free fall giveaway. All event activities will take place on the sidewalk area of the Upper Level of the shopping center (Safeway level).

Bristow Center Trick-or-Treat Movie Night 

On Saturday, October 21st, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Bristow Center is hosting their Trick-or-Treat event followed by a family-friendly Halloween movie from 6:30-8:00 p.m.  This event is free for all, and guests can enjoy music, trick-or-treating, a fall craft station, games, and more! The first 200 people to stop by their event table will receive a free trick-or-treat bag. The event will take place at the green space near Ohana Vet Clinic.

Youth For Tomorrow Country Fair and Auction

Rappaport is proud to sponsor Youth For Tomorrow’s Country Fair & Auctions, located at their campus across the street from Bristow Center on October 7th from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This event promises to be a day full of fun for the whole family, with pony rides, petting zoos, great food, and live entertainment. There will also be a silent and live auction for those interested in bidding on unique items while supporting a fantastic cause. All parking and amusements are free with the price of admission, and concessions will be available for purchase inside. Every dollar raised at the fair helps Youth For Tomorrow continue their vital work of helping children in crisis and providing them with safe places to live and heal.

Dillingham Square Fall Festival and Candy Crawl 

On Saturday, October 7th, from 12:00-3:00 p.m., Dillingham Square in Lake Ridge, VA is hosting their Fall Festival and Candy Crawl. This event is free for all, and guests can enjoy music, a craft station, a candy crawl, a photo booth, and more! The first 300 people to stop by their table will receive a free trick-or-treat bag. The event will take place in the parking lot near Water’s End Brewery, rain or shine.

Mount Airy Candy Crawl

On October 13th, from 4-6 p.m., the Mount Airy Candy Crawl and Movie Night will be held, and the event is free to the public. With candy, games, entertainment, and more, this event is perfect for families. The candy crawl is followed by movie night, featuring a special showing of Mummies. Everyone is welcome to bring a blanket and enjoy the film under the stars.

South Riding Market Square Fall Festival

Join South Riding Market Square for their Fall Festival on Sunday, October 22nd from 1-3 p.m.

This event is free and open to the public, offering a wide range of activities for all ages! Enjoy music, candy crawl, games, a balloon artist, and more! This event will have something for the whole family so bring your kids, friends, and family members, and join the fun.

Trick-or-Treat Events

At Rappaport, we know that Halloween is all about the candy, so we’ve organized a number of free trick-or-treat events for you and your children to enjoy. Each event is open to the public and is designed to give kids and adults alike a chance to dress up in their favorite costumes, take part in spooky activities, and of course, collect some delicious Halloween treats. With a range of events happening across the area throughout the month of October, there’s sure to be a celebration near you that you won’t want to miss.
