The H Street Corridor is buzzing with exciting developments, from new restaurants to events and retail spaces. Whether you’re a local resident enjoying the vibrant community, a retailer scouting the area, or a commercial real estate professional looking for opportunities, there’s plenty to explore. Here’s everything coming soon to H Street NE!
New to Avec
Convenient and affordable grocery shopping will soon be available to H Street residents. Aldi’s new 25,100 SF store promises fresh produce, signature brands, fan-favorite seasonal ALDI Finds, and more.
Also just signed to join Avec, Nash & Smash keeps the menu simple: Nashville-style fried chicken sandwiches and smash-burgers along with creative sides and drinks. What makes this concept extra special is the use of locally sourced, high-quality ingredients, making Nash & Smash a true farm-to-table dining experience.
Community Events
H Street isn’t just about dining and retail—it’s a place for fun and community. That’s why starting this year, the H Street NE Farmers Market is officially year-round, thanks to FRESHFARM! With its 20+ years of history, the market continues to support regional farmers while providing the community with fresh, seasonal foods every Saturday from 9 AM to 12:30 PM.
Experience the lively spirit of Mardi Gras on H Street! This March 1st celebration promises music, Mardi Gras-themed specials, discounts at participating businesses, and fun-filled activities that the whole neighborhood will enjoy.
New Restaurants Signed, Opened, and Coming Soon
Great news for foodies—H Street’s dining scene continues to flourish with a host of exciting additions:
Dolcezza, known for its artisanal gelato and coffee, will be a perfect treat during a stroll down the street. Tapori, a new venture from the creators of Daru, will offer vibrant regional Indian street food, with influences from Kerala, Mumbai, and Nepal, paired with innovative cocktails. Ethio Vegan is also set to open, offering delicious Ethiopian-inspired plant-based dishes in a seasonal garden space. Paola Velez unveiled pint-sized alley bar Providencia last summer. Fry Station, specializing in crispy fried fish, is set to open later this year, and Taco Bell is now serving quick, budget-friendly meals for late-night cravings.
In addition to these openings, a potential new food hall inspired by Union Market is in the works, aiming to showcase local vendors, including bars, restaurants, and coffee shops, all while preserving H Street’s entrepreneurial spirit. These new additions promise to make H Street an even more dynamic food destination.
H Street NE has always been a vibrant neighborhood full of energy, creativity, and possibilities, and the exciting developments on the horizon only highlight its potential.
