McLean, Va. – Rappaport has been awarded the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE), and the company has also been named a winner of the Health & Wellness Seal of Approval. AWE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering employers to build excellence in the workplace as a means of supporting the quality of life for employees, their families, and the community at large. The AWE hosted their 17th annual Awards Luncheon on June 10, 2016 at the Bethesda Marriott.
Rappaport offers 15 employee events throughout the year which include perks such as catered meals, giveaways, private movie screenings and contests. “We are very proud of this recognition, Rappaport maintains a culture that excites, supports and motivates employees” said Jodi Cohen, VP of Human Resources at Rappaport. “We balance the hard work with play with our numerous employee events that offer opportunities to relax, compete, have fun and get to know co-workers better.”
Rappaport’s Healthy Workplace Award recognizes the various health and wellness initiatives available to employees including complimentary gym memberships. Rappaport hosts a summer ‘Get Fit Challenge’ that embraces friendly competition while building on healthy habits. The company also promotes a company-wide Wellness Day which includes massage therapy, active games, a healthy catered lunch and generous prizes.
This year’s theme for the banquet was “Workplace Excellence and Employee Engagement”. Each award recipient underwent a rigorous assessment led by a panel of business professionals, master’s, and Ph. D. level students in various fields of study. The 62 award winning companies represent organizations all of which vary in size and industry types across the United States. Over 250 business executives were in attendance.
Dr. Linda Henman, President of Henman Performance Group and the author of Challenge the Ordinary, Landing in the Executive Chair, and The Magnetic Boss, among other works, was the key note speaker for the event. Doug Kammerer, from NBC4 was the event’s emcee.
