Washington, DC – March 10, 2022 – Edenbridge Health has signed a lease to open a PACE Center at Skyland Town Center, becoming the first health care facility to locate at the Southeast Washington development.

PACE, which stands for The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a program, whose goal is to support older adults while they age in place at home. The PACE interdisciplinary team partners with PACE participants, their families and the community to manage and support the participant’s medical, therapeutic and social needs.

The nearly 15,000 square foot Skyland location will be Edenbridge’s first center in DC. Element Care, a nonprofit organization that operates several PACE programs in Massachusetts, will be the center’s lead operational partner. Amanda Davis, a licensed social worker who is experienced in working with elderly populations, is the center’s executive director.

Edenbridge expects to open the Skyland center in the fall of 2022 and will serve DC residents living in Wards 7 and 8.

“We welcome Edenbridge to Skyland Town Center. This is an important addition to the neighborhood, as it will provide a vital health care service that has long been absent east of the Anacostia River,” said Chris Smith, Chairman and CEO of WC Smith.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Edenbridge Health, the first health care facility to join Skyland Town Center, to our exciting retail and multi-family community. With the assistance of the medical specialty brokers Newmark and Cushman Wakefield, our team was able to match Edenbridge Health’s goals and objectives with the needs of the community resulting in the delivery of the perfect medical service provider to Skyland,” said Steve Carboni, Senior Vice President of Rappaport.

Skyland Town Center is a mixed-use development located at the intersection of Alabama Avenue, Naylor Road and Good Hope Road SE, in Washington’s Ward 7. Rappaport and WC Smith, lead the retail and residential leasing and strategy, respectively.

Roaming Rooster and the first drive-through Starbucks in DC opened at Skyland this year, joining a CVS and a Chase Bank branch. The Crest, a 263-unit multifamily property (and future home to Edenbridge), opened in April 2021. Slated to open later this year are several restaurants, a Lidl grocery store, a barber shop and a nail salon.
