We would like to recognize three women who are the driving force behind Rappaport’s avant-garde mixed-use development in Washington, D.C.’s Atlas District: Avec on H.
Emily Struck of Rappaport: As Rappaport’s Director of Development, Emily oversees Avec’s development from conception to completion. Emily manages the designers, construction, architects and engineers to effectively execute a sense of place. Her invaluable role in the process ensures the project’s objectives and deadlines are met, bringing this highly anticipated development to fruition in the coming year.
Anne Mahlum of [solidcore]: Anne Mahlum is the founder and CEO of [solidcore], a high-intensity Pilates-inspired work out with dozens of locations in the D.C. region and nationwide. Through Anne’s initiative, [solidcore] was the first tenant to sign on as a retail tenant at Avec, delivering a convenient and highly sought-after work out to the streets of the Atlas District as well as the 420 residential units above. In the next few weeks, Anne will be running a marathon in Antarctica on behalf of Back on My Feet, a nonprofit combatting homelessness through the power of running. To donate, click here.
Michelle Gutierrez of Rappaport: Utilizing her designations as Certified Property Manager, LEED Green Associate and Real Property Administrator, Michelle will provide property management services for the 44,000 square feet of retail at Avec upon completion. This is no easy feat with new construction: she will be the point-of-contact for all retail tenant coordination, overseeing property operations, maintenance, development and administration of annual budgets as well as compliance with all D.C. codes and regulations.
We honor these women through our continued commitment and support of the ‘Balance for Better’ theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, because “balance is not a women’s issue, it’s a business issue.”
