Roanoke, Va. The merchants of Towers Shopping Center donated $1,000 to William Fleming High School as part of the shopping center’s “Spirit of Giving” promotion. The school received the donation thanks to Ray Bradley of Roanoke. He listed William Fleming High School as his favorite school on the entry form he filled out for a shopping spree drawing.
Bradley entered the drawing once at Domestications/The Company Store. In addition to a $1,000 donation to the school, Bradley won a $1,000 shopping spree to Towers Shopping Center for himself. “My family and I had a wonderful Christmas,” he said.
“We are very excited about this donation and will use the donation to buy instructional resources for our teachers and students” said Susan Willis, principal of William Fleming High school.
This is the first time that William Fleming High School has won a donation from Towers Shopping Center. Previous winning schools include; Patrick Henry High School, James Madison Middle School, Highland Park Learning Center, Clearbrook Elementary School and William Byrd Middle School.
Towers Shopping Center is located at Brandon Avenue and Colonial Avenue in Roanoke and includes Kroger, The Fresh Market, Awful Arthur’s and Present Thyme. The shopping center is owned and managed by The Rappaport Companies of McLean, Va.
