Manassas, Va. - The merchants of Bull Run Plaza in Manassas donated $1,000 to Baldwin Elementary School as part of the shopping center’s holiday promotion. The school received the donation thanks to Susanne Waldrep of Manassas who listed Baldwin Elementary as her favorite school on the entry form she filled out for a shopping spree drawing. Waldrep's co-worker has a daughter in first grade at the school. In addition to a $1,000 donation to the school, Waldrep won a $1,000 shopping spree to Bull Run Plaza for herself.
Dr. Ashley Cramp, Baldwin Elementary principal said the money will help students pay for school supplies and field trips with their classes.
This is the fifth year the merchants of Bull Run Plaza have hosted this promotion. Other winning schools include Bennett Elementary School, Sudley Elementary School, Weems Elementary School and Yorkshire Elementary School.
Featuring Shoppers Food and Pharmacy, Dick's Sporting Goods and Office Depot, Bull Run Plaza is at the intersection of Sudley Road and Sudley Manor Drive in Manassas.
